Q:When did this take place? A:Tuesday, March 23, 2021
Background: Chris Ritter lives in Geneseo, IL with his wife of 32 years, Becky, and leads First United Methodist Church. He is a member of the Global Council of the Wesleyan Covenant Association where he has been working on the shape of the next Methodism. Chris is the author of Seven Things John Wesley Expected Us to Do for Kids (Abingdon Press) and holds a Doctorate in Evangelism from Southern Methodist University’s Perkins School of Theology. His blog, PeopleNeedJesus.net, is a widely read resource on developments in the church.
We had a great Zoom meeting with Rev. Dr. Chris Ritter last evening and widespread attendance from across Northern Illinois (and beyond). A reminder to sign up for the Saturday, May 1 Global Gathering of the Wesleyan Covenant Association. There’s a GREAT line up of inspiring speakers and a lot of important information that will be shared. Though the live event will be at Frazer UMC in Montgomery, AL, there are three simulcast sites in Illinois: NOTE: The Wheatland Salem UMC Link will be available starting April 1, 2021.
- Naperville: Wheatland Salem UMC (1852 W. 95th Street, Naperville, IL)
- Geneseo: First UMC (302 N. State Street, Geneseo, IL)
- Troy: Troy UMC (407 Edwardsville Rd. Troy, IL 62294)
